MOBILITY

I’ve bought myself a scooter
To help me get about
It’s really quite essential
For my legs have given out

When first I went to use it
I really had some doubt
I thought some might resent me
As I trundled it about

But then unto my great surprise
This just was not the case
The many folk who passed me
Had a smile upon their face

Perhaps I looked a little quaint
Perched up upon the seat
But I like to think it’s kindness
For the person that they greet

Some just say “Good Morning”
Other say “Nice Day”
Some will even stop to chat
Before going on their way

Before I had my scooter
When walking into town
Most folk would pass without a word
Their faces in a frown

So thanks to all those people
Who greet me on their way
And though they’re lsquo;looking down’ on me
They really make my day
